Pity the track wasn't up to it and the meeting was abandoned.
Can't imagine I'll be going there again in a hurry.

Well we made it to Donington, with the two Tigas and the Royale.

Dissapointing for the drivers and the spectators too.
Don't you find that centre mirror a big distraction even in the heat of the battle? |

These mirrors used to feature on all the old group 6 cars in the 1970's, and look dead right on a Sports 2000. However, seeing past them is a real
issue. My Swift had one when I got it, and I had to look round the damn thing through Graham Hill bend at Brand Hatch, as it completely obscured the apex as
you turned in. Swiftly (sic) ditched it in favour of a second small mirror on the left hand side. Our American cousins love them. Not that they're
narcissistic, you understand..................

I don't think that mirror was original on the Royale, but it certainly was on the Tiga.
It is mounted way-up high and does not interfere with my sight line at all. I do like to know whats going on around me on the track (unlike some others I have seen recently) and I have got the same mirror fitted on the Tigas too. When out in the rain at Silverstone on a new-to-me circuit and with the much faster Duratecs blasting past me I was very glad of it. ...and they don't seem to slow Oli and Patrick down do they? I'll let you know about the heat of battle when I finally find one thats in full working order. BD. http://i611.photobucket.com/albums/tt193/BarryDavison/DSCN1278mirrors.jpg |

Colin,
a thought.......... Could we get Mallory to squeeze in another race for the Historics to replace the one at Donington that went t*ts-up? We are there anyway. BD |
