I'm asking what you T 492 drivers use to 'seal' the front wheels from drowning the car during a wet race?

My new body (2 piece) has no inner wheel arches (the rear does) so it is wide ope to the spray off the front wheels.

I am fitting (hideous) front splash guards right now, but wondered what others do.

Bit like this T 492 in the USA:

Bet it will not rain at any meeting now all this year!

In fact the car is all but finished now, racing next weekend (rather testing next weekend at a clubbie hillclimb)

Yes, I agree you cannot keep it all out, but I want to keep most of it away/deflected from areas where the car might stop and ruin the run.
Contary to popular thinking Hillclimbers are not bothered about a wet ars@ as much any other racer, just that the run is critical, and a loss of time through a
miss fire or interruption in a 45 second run will drop you to the bottom of the class or worse.

The 'rooster tail' of water that comes off the fronts will simply drop loads...

Charles is right. You can't stop it. Anything you do is wasting your time and money. there are so many apertures for the water to get in - especially the
cockpit opening. Wear a karting dry-suit, and wrap your electrics in a plastic bag - not high-tec but it will certainly get you up the hill in a hurricane with
a dry arse.

Bunch of wimps? Probably!

I'm more concerned about water in the electrics, a failed run and spending hours drying/cleaning up than damp underpants (from the rain).

Why suffer when you can prevent it, esp when I don't have to worry about originality etc .

After talking to TW Mouldings (who made my body) the T 492 and other Lolas of the period did not have any splash guards at all in the front.

After tacking the one side alloy guard to the tub (lots of pop rivit holes there already) it looks stupid with the 'wings' on the tub, and impossible
to get a good water seal across the top, so I am making the sheet guards to bond to the body underside, glass the lot and make them part of the body.

They cover the front edge of the...
